He started out as a salesman at Goldman Sachs, where he worked for 17 years before becoming an entrepreneur and investing in hedge funds. In 2005, he founded SkyBridge Capital with his friend Michael Weisel; it grew to become one of America’s largest alternative investment funds before selling it to RON Transatlantic Advisors in 2017.
Scaramucci was also involved with politics: He was appointed by President Barack Obama as co-chairman of the President’s Export Council and served on Donald Trump’s presidential transition team after he won election in 2016.
