Anthony Scaramucci is a financier and entrepreneur who served as the White House director of communications for 10 days. He started out as a salesman at Goldman Sachs, where he worked for 17 years before becoming an entrepreneur and investing in hedge funds. In 2005, he founded SkyBridge Capital with his friend Michael Weisel; it grew to become one of America’s largest alternative investment funds before selling it to RON Transatlantic Advisors in 2017.
Scaramucci was also involved with politics: He was appointed by President Barack Obama as co-chairman of the President’s Export Council and served on Donald Trump’s presidential transition team after he won election in 2016.
Italian immigrant parents raised him in Port Washington, New York on Long Island.
Anthony Scaramucci was born on June 4, 1964 in Port Washington, New York. His parents were Italian immigrants who came to the United States with little money and worked hard to provide for their family. As a result of their sacrifices and hard work, Anthony’s brothers were able to attend college; both are now doctors.
Anthony also attended Harvard University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in economics with honors before going on to earn his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 1989 where he was an editor at the Harvard Law Review.

Scaramucci served as an assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York from 1989 through 1994, resigning his position to begin work at Goldman Sachs.[4]
His first job out of law school was working for Goldman Sachs.
Scaramucci was a salesman for Goldman Sachs, one of the top investment banks in the world. He didn’t work as an investment banker himself–he was simply selling their services to clients. But he learned a lot about how Wall Street works and met his wife Jennifer while working there.
When Scaramucci started at Goldman Sachs, he was only 28 years old and had just graduated from law school at New York University (NYU). He made $160k per year as an associate with a base salary plus bonuses that could add another $100k-$200k per year on top of that
While working as a salesman at Goldman Sachs, he met his wife Jennifer, who also worked at Goldman Sachs but in the private wealth management division.

While you might think that this means Scaramucci is well off enough to not need to work anymore, it’s actually quite the opposite: He was born into modest circumstances–his father was a construction worker and his mother was an elementary school teacher–and he grew up on Long Island with four siblings. His ambition helped him rise through the ranks quickly; by the time he got married he had already earned three degrees from Harvard University (a bachelor’s degree in economics), Tufts University (an MBA), and Harvard Law School (a JD).
He left Goldman to join the investment bank founded by his brother, SkyBridge Capital.
Anthony Scaramucci is the founder and co-managing partner of SkyBridge Capital, an investment firm that invests in hedge funds, private equity and real estate. He also served as a senior advisor to President Donald Trump from January 2017 until July 2017.
Scaramucci’s brother founded SkyBridge Capital in 2005 after leaving Goldman Sachs where he had worked for over 20 years. The company has offices around the world including New York City; Hong Kong; London; Dubai; Singapore and Mumbai (India).
In 2009 Anthony joined his brother at Skybridge as a co-managing partner with responsibility for day-to-day operations at their family office which manages more than $11 billion in assets under management.
In 2011, Scaramucci sold SkyBridge Capital to HNA Group for $230 million.

In addition to his career as an investor and entrepreneur, Anthony also serves on several boards including those of George Washington University School of Business, Catalyst Inc., Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and The Economic Club of New York City (ECNY).
Conclusion
Scaramucci’s story is a fascinating one, and we hope you enjoyed learning more about him. He’s certainly made quite a name for himself in the world of finance. However, he isn’t the only person with an interesting background or career path–there are many others who have overcome adversity to achieve great things!
